    Programming Guidelines

The CEDoW K-6 Programming Guidelines are clearly aligned with NESA curriculum requirements and apply to all KLAs. The guidelines support staff with the intention of building a shared understanding of system expectations in educational programming which have been streamlined in order to support the core work of teachers in building quality teaching and learning programs.

NESA’s Curriculum - school registration requirements fact sheet provides further guidance on curriculum documentation and record-keeping for school registration purposes, clarifying common questions raised. While programs should be comprehensive, they do not need to be fully scripted and should reflect typical teaching practices. The amount of depth and detail included in a teaching program is a matter for the teacher.

    WriteOn Competition

    unnamed_2_.png

The annual WriteOn competition provides an exciting opportunity for schools, teachers, and students to engage with writing. Through participation, students develop their ability to express ideas creatively and may even become published authors. Open to students in Years 1 to 6, the competition invites students to craft an imaginative text of up to 500 words based on a provided stimulus.

Students are to use the stimulus quote below to create an imaginative text of up to 500 words: “Could they be changing?”

Additional teaching and learning resources, aligned to the English K-10 Syllabus, are available to support teachers and students. The competition closes on Friday 20 June 2025.
